ISE II (B2): Reported Speech
We use the reported speech to say something that someone has said without quoting the exact words. That is to say, the sentence has the same meaning but we use different words.
Usually, the reporting clause appears first, followed by a subordinated clause introduced by that (this pronoun can be omitted).
Example:

We can report a sentence (affirmative or negative clauses to give information), questions (used to ask for information) and commands (to give orders).
